Ingredients

For the Salmon

  • 1 pound salmon fillet (skin removed and cut into bite-sized cubes)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil for that silky richness
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika for adding that signature blackened flavor
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder to deepen the taste
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder for a hint of sweetness
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper for a touch of heat
  • to taste Salt and pepper for balancing the flavors

For the Garlic Honey Sauce

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter rich and creamy
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced to amp up the flavor
  • 1/4 cup honey for a luscious sweetness
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice to add brightness

For Garnish

  • to taste Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish and a pop of color

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a medium-sized bowl, combine smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper. Mix them well to ensure the spices are evenly distributed.
  • Place the bite-sized salmon cubes in a bowl and drizzle with olive oil, tossing them gently to ensure every piece is well-coated. Sprinkle the prepared spice mixture over the salmon, and toss lightly once again for an even coating.

Cooking

  • Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the seasoned salmon cubes in a single layer. Let them cook undisturbed for 2-3 minutes on each side or until they are blackened and cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

Sauce Preparation

  • In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic, sautéing it for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Stir in the honey and lemon juice, allowing it to bubble and thicken slightly for about a minute.

Finishing Touch

  • Return the cooked salmon to the skillet and coat it with the garlic honey butter sauce, letting it warm through for about a minute. Remove it from the heat.
  • Plate the Blackened Salmon Bites and garnish with freshly chopped parsley and an extra drizzle of honey, if desired. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

For extra flavor, let the marinated salmon sit in the fridge for 30 minutes before cooking. Use a cast-iron skillet for the best sear and flavor.
