Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 12 pieces fresh jalapeños Choose firm jalapeños for that perfect crunch and a hint of spice.
  • 4 ounces brie cheese This creamy cheese adds an incredible richness and smoothness to each bite.
  • 4 ounces softened cream cheese Cream cheese provides a velvety filling that marries perfectly with the brie.
  • 1/3 cup blueberry preserves The sweet preserves lend a touch of sweetness and balance the heat of the jalapeños.
  • 1/3 cup breadcrumbs For that golden, crispy topping that contrasts with the creaminess beneath.
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter This adds flavor and enhances the crunchiness of the breadcrumbs.
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder A hint of garlic elevates the overall flavor profile of the filling.
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt Just enough to enhance the flavors.
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper A touch of heat that perfectly complements the other spices.
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped For a vibrant, fresh touch of color and flavor.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Slice each jalapeño in half lengthwise and carefully remove the seeds and membranes.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Blend until smooth and creamy.
  • Cut the brie into small, bite-sized pieces.
  • Spoon the creamy mixture generously into each jalapeño half and top with pieces of brie.
  • Spoon a small dollop of blueberry preserves over each filled jalapeño.
  • In a separate bowl, mix the breadcrumbs with melted butter until well coated. Sprinkle the mixture over each popper.

Baking

  • Place the jalapeño poppers in the preheated oven and bake for 15 to 18 minutes, until the jalapeños are tender, the cheese is melted, and the topping is golden.
  • Let them cool for a few minutes and sprinkle with fresh parsley before serving warm.

Notes

For best results, use fresh ingredients, especially jalapeños and cheese. Consider adding cayenne pepper or smoked paprika for extra spice. These poppers can be prepared in advance and refrigerated until ready to bake.
