Flatbread Base

  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese Can mix with other cheeses for different flavors.
  • 1 large egg Binds ingredients together.
  • 1 cup almond flour Keep for low-carb profile; can substitute with coconut flour.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder Adds flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder Helps the flatbread rise.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt For seasoning.
  • to taste optional herbs (oregano or basil) Enhances flavor profile.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) for even cooking.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine almond flour, garlic powder, baking powder, and salt. Stir well.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together egg and shredded mozzarella cheese until fully combined.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until a dough begins to form.
  • On a parchment-lined baking sheet, spread the dough into a flat, round shape, about 1/2 inch thick.

Baking

  • Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, until the top is golden brown.
  • If desired, sprinkle some herbs on top during the last few minutes of baking.
  • Allow the flatbread to cool for a few minutes before slicing into wedges or strips.

Notes

Consider mixing different cheese blends or adding crushed red pepper flakes for spice. You can also incorporate finely chopped vegetables for added nutrition.
