  • 2 cups heavy cream Provides richness and creaminess.
  • 1 cup whole milk Balances the richness of the cream.
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar Sweetens the base.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Enhances flavor.

Add-ins

  • 1/2 cup cherry preserves or chopped fresh cherries Fresh cherries are best for flavor.
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips Dark, milk, or white chocolate chips can be used.

Preparation

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the heavy cream, whole milk, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract. Whisk or mix until the sugar is fully dissolved and the mixture is smooth.
  • Gently fold in the cherry preserves or chopped cherries, distributing them evenly.
  • Add the chocolate chips to the mixture, creating pockets of chocolate throughout.

Chilling and Freezing

  • Cover the mixing bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 1-2 hours.
  • Pour the chilled mixture into your ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions, usually for about 20-25 minutes until soft-serve consistency.
  • Transfer the churned ice cream to an airtight container, smooth the top, and freeze for at least 4 hours to firm up.

Serving

  • Scoop the Cherry Garcia Ice Cream into bowls or cones and serve. Optionally garnish with extra chocolate chips or cherry pieces.

Notes

For creamier ice cream, consider adding a couple of tablespoons of cornstarch to the base mixture. Store in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 2 weeks.
