Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and 1/2 cup powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the flour and salt to the butter mixture, mixing until just combined to form a soft, slightly sticky dough.
  • Fold in the mini chocolate chips evenly throughout the dough.
  • Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough and roll them into balls. Place on the prepared baking sheet, spaced about 1 inch apart.

Baking

  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the bottoms are lightly golden while the tops remain pale.
  • Let the cookies cool for about 5 minutes, then roll them in the remaining powdered sugar.
  • For an extra snowy appearance, roll in powdered sugar a second time once completely cooled.
