Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). This is an essential step for achieving a perfectly crispy outer layer.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, celery, cranberries, minced garlic, dried thyme, salt, and black pepper. Mix these ingredients thoroughly until well incorporated.
  • Gradually pour in the chicken or vegetable broth. Use your hands to mix everything together until the mixture holds together but isn’t too wet. Adjust the amount of broth based on the consistency.
  • Scoop out portions of the mixture and roll them into balls about the size of a golf ball.
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup. Arrange the formed balls on the sheet, giving them some space to allow even cooking.
  • Lightly drizzle olive oil over the top of each stuffing ball. This will help them roast beautifully, turning a gorgeous golden brown.
  • Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for about 25-30 minutes, or until the balls are golden brown and cooked through.
  • Once baked, allow the cranberry turkey stuffing balls to cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

These stuffing balls can be served on a bed of creamy mashed potatoes or beside roasted vegetables. They pair beautifully with a homemade cranberry sauce or a rich gravy. Leftover stuffing balls can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days or frozen for up to two months. Reheat in the oven to maintain a crispy exterior.
