  • 1 whole whole turkey breast (approximately 3-5 pounds)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
  • 1 teaspoon dried sage
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • 1 cup chicken broth (for basting)

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 325 degrees F (163 degrees C).
  • Rinse the turkey breast under cold water and pat it dry with paper towels.
  • In a small bowl, mix the olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, rosemary, sage, salt, and pepper.
  • Rub this mixture on the turkey breast thoroughly, ensuring the spices coat the meat evenly.
  • Place the turkey in a roasting pan breast side up and pour the chicken broth into the bottom of the pan.

Cooking

  • Roast for about 1.5 to 2 hours, checking that the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees F (74 degrees C).
  • Halfway through baking, baste the turkey with the pan juices.
  • Once done, let the turkey rest for 15-20 minutes before slicing.

Notes

For an even more flavorful turkey, consider brining it overnight. Use kitchen twine to tie the turkey breast legs together for even cooking. Customize the herb mixture based on your preferences.
