Truffle Base

  • 2 cups white chocolate chips Opt for high-quality chocolate for the best flavor.
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream Heated until it's simmering.
  • 1 teaspoon peppermint extract Adjust according to flavor preference.

Coating

Preparation

  • In a small saucepan, pour the heavy cream and gently heat it over medium-low heat until it starts to simmer. Do not let it boil.
  • Place the white chocolate chips in a heatproof bowl. Pour the simmering cream over the chocolate chips and let it sit for 2 minutes.
  • Whisk the mixture until smooth and creamy. Incorporate the peppermint extract and set aside to cool to room temperature.

Shaping and Coating

  • Cover the ganache with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 1-2 hours until firm.
  • Use a cookie scoop to portion out the ganache and roll each portion into a ball between your palms.
  • Roll each truffle in crushed peppermint candies or sprinkles to coat.

Serving

  • Arrange the truffles on a decorative plate or in festive gift boxes. Serve them at room temperature or chilled.

Notes

Use a double boiler for melting chocolate if desired, chill the ganache for easier handling, and these truffles can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator.
