Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, mix the flour, yeast, salt, and sugar together.
  • Add warm water and olive oil, stirring until a cohesive dough forms.
  • Knead on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  • Place the dough back in the bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let rise for 1 hour until doubled in size.

Garlic Dill Sauce

  • In a small bowl, combine sour cream, minced garlic, dried dill, salt, and pepper.
  • Mix well and chill in the fridge.

Assembling

  • Grease a baking dish with olive oil or cooking spray.
  • Once dough has risen, place in the baking dish, spreading evenly.
  • Let rise for another 30 minutes.
  • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  • Dimple the surface of the dough with fingers, then spread the chilled garlic dill sauce over the top.
  • Layer the sliced dill pickles, shredded mozzarella, and grated parmesan.

Baking

  • Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Let cool in the pan for about 5 minutes.
  • Garnish with fresh dill before slicing into squares.

Notes

For added flavor, sprinkle some coarse sea salt on top before baking. Brush with olive oil for a golden crust. Experiment with different cheeses for variety.
