  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme Enhances overall flavor and aroma.
  • 1 cup sour cream Gives dish its creamy texture.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Heat vegetable oil in a large pot over medium-high heat. Add the beef and brown on all sides for about 5-7 minutes. Remove the beef and set aside.
  • In the same pot, add the diced onion and sauté until translucent, approximately 3 minutes. Next, add the minced garlic and cook for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

Cooking

  • Return the beef to the pot and stir in the beef broth, tomato paste, paprika, and thyme. Bring to a boil, then reduce to low heat, cover, and let it simmer for 1.5-2 hours.
  • Once the beef is tender, remove the pot from heat and stir in the sour cream until creamy and smooth. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper as needed.
  • Serve the goulash in bowls, garnished with fresh parsley.

Notes

For deeper flavor, add Worcestershire sauce or Dijon mustard during simmering. For spice, use cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes. You can also add diced carrots or potatoes in the last hour of cooking.
