Ingredients
  

For the marinade

  • 1/4 cup Soy Sauce Provides salty depth.
  • 2 tablespoons Honey Adds sweetness; adjust according to taste.
  • 1 tablespoon Rice Vinegar Offers subtle acidity.
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame Oil Infuses nutty flavor.
  • 2 cloves Minced Garlic Enhances overall flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh Ginger, Finely Grated Adds aromatic kick.

For the cod

  • 4 fillets Cod Fillets Tender and flaky.

Preparation

  • In a bowl, combine soy sauce, finely grated ginger, minced garlic, honey, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. Whisk until the honey has dissolved.
  • Pat the cod fillets dry with a paper towel. Place the fillets in a shallow dish and pour half the marinade over the fish. Allow it to marinate for 30 minutes.
  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place the marinated cod fillets on the sheet.
  • In a saucepan, heat the remaining marinade over medium heat until it thickens slightly. Brush this glaze over the cod.

Cooking

  • Bake the cod for 12-15 minutes or until opaque and flaking easily.
  • Let the cod rest for 3-5 minutes before serving. Serve over rice with steamed vegetables.

Notes

Use fresh ingredients for the best flavor. Adjust sweetness with honey and vinegar to personal preference. If desired, add vegetables to the baking tray.
