Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your grill or a grill pan over medium heat, lightly greasing it with vegetable oil.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine teriyaki sauce, honey, soy sauce, garlic powder, ginger powder, and crushed red pepper flakes. Mix well.
  • Add the sausage to the bowl and toss gently to coat evenly. Marinate for 10-15 minutes.

Assembly and Cooking

  • Thread a piece of sausage followed by a chunk of pineapple onto toothpicks or small skewers, alternating until filled.
  • Place the skewers on the preheated grill or grill pan. Cook for 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally, until the sausage is heated through and the pineapple is caramelized.
  • Baste the skewers with leftover teriyaki sauce mixture while grilling.
  • Remove skewers from the grill and transfer to a serving platter. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley or cilantro.

Notes

For an even more flavorful result, add a splash of apple cider vinegar to the marinade. Marinate longer (up to 30 minutes) for a more intense flavor. Consider adding bell pepper or onion chunks for variety.
