Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, whole wheat breadcrumbs, egg, 1/2 cup BBQ sauce, diced onion, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and optional dried herbs.
  • Using clean hands, mix everything until well combined, being careful not to overmix.

Cooking

  • Transfer the mixture into a loaf pan or shape it into a loaf on a lined baking sheet.
  • Brush additional BBQ sauce on top of the meatloaf.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 45-55 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).

Serving

  • Once cooked, let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes to allow the juices to redistribute.
  • Slice into thick pieces, serve warm, and garnish with fresh herbs if desired.

Notes

For added moisture, consider mixing in Worcestershire sauce or grated zucchini. Customize flavors with chopped bell peppers or different herbs and spices as desired.
