Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
  • In a medium saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat. Remove from heat once fully melted.
  • Stir in the granulated sugar into the melted butter until combined. Add the eggs one by one, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, salt, lemon zest, and freshly squeezed lemon juice.
  • Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.

Baking

  • Bake for 25-30 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Icing

  • While the brownies are baking, whisk together the powdered sugar and 2 tablespoons of lemon juice until smooth.
  • Once the brownies are out of the oven, allow cooling for about 10 minutes before spreading the icing over the warm brownies.
