  • 1 cup beef broth Creates a luscious, aromatic sauce.
  • 1 jar pepperoncini peppers, with juice Adds tanginess and spiciness.
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter Enriches the flavors of the roast.
  • to taste Salt and pepper Enhances natural flavors.
  • for garnish Fresh parsley, chopped Brightens the dish.

Preparation

  • Place the chuck roast in the bottom of your slow cooker, positioned well and flat.
  • Sprinkle the ranch seasoning mix and au jus gravy mix evenly over the roast.
  • Pour the beef broth around the roast, ensuring the seasoning remains undisturbed on top.
  • Layer the pepperoncini peppers and pour their juice over the roast.
  • Cut the unsalted butter into small chunks and scatter it over the roast.
  • Cover the slow cooker and set it to cook on low for about 8 hours, or on high for 4-5 hours.
  • Once cooked, shred the meat directly in the slow cooker with two forks.
  • Taste and add salt and pepper as needed.
  • Serve warm, garnished with chopped fresh parsley.

Notes

For optimal flavor, consider searing the roast before slow cooking. Adding veggies like carrots and potatoes can create a complete meal. For a thicker gravy, remove the lid during the last hour of cooking.
