Preparation

  • Slice off the stems of the cabbages and cut each into 1-inch thick rounds.
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Arrange cabbage pieces on the baking sheet and brush with olive oil.
  • Sprinkle each round with kosher salt, garlic powder, paprika, and chili flakes.
  • Flip cabbage steaks and repeat the seasoning process.

Cooking

  • Preheat your oven to 230°C (450°F).
  • Bake cabbage steaks for 20 minutes.
  • Flip the pieces and bake for an additional 20 minutes until golden-brown and tender.

Notes

Choose firm cabbages and don’t overcrowd the baking sheet. Experiment with seasonings like lemon zest or smoked paprika for variations.
